Explore the coal mine, pit shaft, drift entrance and mine office with hands on activities and displays. Experience life as a young boy down in the coal pits and have a go at ‘Gus & Crook coal hauling’.
Tours every half an hour; limited numbers on each tour. No advanced booking but please book your tour time when you arrive.
View the top of the shaft and the drift entrance as part of your tour. There is plenty to see so allow at least two hours for your visit. Strong shoes advised as the site maybe muddy in places. South Gloucestershire Mines Research Group publication on local mining will be on sale at the event.
Limited wheelchair access due to the nature of the site with rough ground, steps and steep slopes.
