SGMRG are making available our database of named miners for the benefit of people researching the lives of miners in South Gloucestershire and Bristol. This database takes the form of an Excel spreadsheet within a ZIP file.
Most entries relate to coal mining, although other mining activities are included (e.g. iron mines), as well as people associated with mines such as land owners. Each entry contains summary information about the person, and details of where the source information for the entry can be found, which enables the researcher to conduct further research. A full description of the database can be found within the User Guide which is a PDF file.
